Wild Weather, Changing Climate
The evidence is clear: Earth’s climate is changing. Global temperatures are rising, and extreme weather events are becoming more frequent. Many scientists are convinced that the change is caused by human activity, and say that climate change is the most important scientific issue facing humankind today.
The Exhibit Museum offers a new exhibit and an array of programming from January through May 2007 to explore this important topic in a museum theme semester, Wild Weather, Changing Climate. Audiences will have a chance to listen, learn, and ask questions of some of the world’s leading experts, many from the University of Michigan.
This programming is the Museum’s contribution to the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts’ 2006-2007 Citizenship Theme Year. Scientific literacy is essential to a well-informed citizenry, especially on this issue, which affects us locally, nationally, and globally.
